Description

We'll discuss some of the most common issues seen in climate fiction slush piles, unpack why these are problematic, and encourage alternative structures and approaches that will lead writers to create fresher stories that incorporate authentic climate science and solarpunk values.

As a story reviewer for Grist's Imagine 2200 Climate Fiction contest, Ulibarri will cover cliches and problematic or overused tropes, resources and suggestions for alternative approaches, and clarification of climate fiction genre expectations.

This class meets once for an hour in webinar format. Video/microphones are not required to participate. No preparation is required for this class.
