Welcome!

Clarion West exists to support and educate genre writers, and I like to support it each year. As a bonus, their write-a-thon gives me a motivational boost to create more short stories!

Why write more?

I have a book in the works, the first of a Space Opera series. I would like to release a group of short stories to help introduce readers to the universe first. I have written several, but most need major rewrites (and! I recently I solved a problem in one and I'm burning to get started on revamping it!) This write-a-thon is a perfect opportunity for me to buckle down and get those stories whipped into shape, and create some new ones.

Six weeks, six stories.

To keep things simple, each donation of $10 lets you read a short story draft. Each additional $10 adds a story.

If you donate more than $60, I'll work a name you choose (within reason: not mine and no politicians) into the story.

While Clarion West needs money to provide its programming, your emotional support is as welcome to me as any financial support. Thank you for reading!

The Write-a-thon supports Clarion West programs year-round. All donations support Clarion West classes, workshops, panels, and other programs for emerging writers, including our Six-Week Workshop. We also hold events, offer scholarships, raise awareness, and promote diverse speculative fiction in Seattle and all over the world.
